  • CY-8 Cymbal rim shots not registering on TD-17-L module

    Hello everyone,

As stated in the title, I added a third CY-8 cymbal to my Roland TD-17-L module using the "Crash 2" input on the back of the module, and it will not register rim shots. No matter how I hit the cymbal it registers as a "head" hit. I am using a generic Yorkville cable.
I swapped the cable from the ride to test if it was the pad, and it registered the rim shot just fine. So at this point I've narrowed it down to either the cable, a setting, or the "crash 2" plug on the module itself.
Would love to get some opinions on how to fix the issue.

    Thanks,
    Zach

Sounds like the cable that you are using is not a stereo cable. Check to see if the jacks on the cable have 1 black ring or 2. If only one then it is a mono cable which will not register the edge zone.
