So I'm tackling Thompson Twins Hold Me Now. I'm looking to emulate their distinctive 80's snare in the studio recording.
I have a TD-15K.
What I've done so far... On the kit I use most (Pearl Studio from VExpressions), saved to Kit 100 for experimenting, I'm trying all kinds of snare settings with ambiance, EFX, strainer, etc and it's frustrating.
I have found that on my default kits, #49 (909) the snare kind of has that sound, but way to pronounced. Wonder if any of you folks might know what I should be concentrating on... or have a setting similar?
