DW hi hat rod won't stay tight

hey gang,

new drummer here.
I have a TD15 KV. love it.
I have a hi hat problem.
would someone please tell me how to fix it?
I got a DW 3000 stand for the VH11.

I cannot make the threaded rod stay tight.
so, then my VH11 hihat spins around.
no fun. maddening.
any advice, guys?

Use the HH clutch to tighten the rod. Tighten the clutch on the rod and turn the rod with the clutch. You will need to do the same thing to get the rod off.

thank you very much.
how do you hold back the nut (coupling nut on the lower rod)?
its recessed down in the tube.
there's not enough sticking out to get a wrench on.
if I'm not holding back on that nut, I'm afraid that I'll destroy the stuff and linkage below by twisting it to far.

update: holding a 3/8" wrench at an angle, I was able to hold back on the coupling nut.
I used your method of using the clutch to tighten the rod.
I think it worked really good.

Suggest tightening with the clutch only then mount the hi hat.

I have a very good feeling that it will not loosen up anymore.

Glad to hear it went okay. I am happy with all my DW stuff.. I have a 7000 kick and hi hat as well as the 9000 stuff.

wow, I see you have a TD-30KV. man, loved the sound of the Vision preset, I heard in a youtube demo. I so wish I could get that in my TD-15.
