Piezo Wiring Question?

I'm in the process of wiring up my DIY kit. Having difficulty troubleshooting the snare. I have a Center Cone Trigger (Quartz) and a Rim Trigger wired to a Stereo Neutrik Jack. I followed the wiring diagram from Quartz but am getting a bad "phasing" sound from the rim trigger when I hit the drum hard enough to trigger a rim shot sound. The Center Cone Trigger seems to be fine, side stick sound also OK. Just getting a strange "hollow" sound when I play rim shots. I attempted to reverse the polarity of the Rim Trigger but didn't have any luck fixing the problem. Help??

Two further questions...

1. Does polarity even matter since I'm using a TD-4 Brain (no positional sensing)?
2. Is the phasing due to the same sample triggering on the head and rim? Wondering if there is a setting in the TD-4 I'm overlooking?

So upon further troubleshooting... Head is triggering OK, Rim is triggering OK. However, when I try and play a rimshot (combined head and rim) I get the phasing sound. Is not being able to play "rimshots" a limitation of the TD-4?

All about the rim shot in your TD-4 manual at pages 13-16-37 and 44. I think if you set the crosstick volume at Off, you will get 100% rim shor sound so, maybe to reduce the volume on the crosstick will fix the problem.

No luck Sylvain. xStick is OFF in the Mixer settings. I'm able to trigger either a head OR rimshot sound, but not both at the same time. Starting to wonder if it's a limitation in the TD-4...? When I tap on the shell I sometimes trigger a "phased" sounding rimshot. Could this be an issue with the way I have the triggers wired together?
