  • 1/4 jack socket wiring question.

I have the peizo and socket in the attached picture, so far I have soldered the red wire to the top right leg and the black wire to the top left leg and it works as expected. I have read that I need to create a ground loop by connecting the same two legs on the other side, does anyone know if this is required?

    Thanks,
    Dave.

If it works then that is all you need to do. The only reason for connecting both sides of the connector is that one side of the socket is switched. If you don't know which side is which then by using both sides you guarantee to get it working. One side is just fine as long as it's the right one. Keith
