    That looks awesome. Good job.

Only downside is that I would need a vh11 to cannibalise to start with,! I am currently looking at doing the fsr foot switch diy mod that is detailed elsewhere.

It'sYour h I hat single zone? I only saw a single piezo. How will does it play? How quiet is it?

Cool nice job. I actually did something like this a while back...only I used a Gen16 cymbal and just mounted it to the top pad of my VH-13. Tweaked the sensitivity a bit and it responded as well as it did in it's stock configuration...but to me played better because of the feel. Best part was...no cannibalization of the VH-13.

As for the cannibalization, it is not that bad at all. Except the minute it takes to pull out or put back the missing adaptor. The biggest challenge will be not to lose it. ;-) And of course, you need to have the VH-11 lying somewhere but a lot of us do.

I waish I had vh-11 just laying around! I certainly wouldn't be using my fixed cy-5

Of course it takes the DIY factor a bit down to use the VH-11 instead of building one controller from scratch but it is the best I came up with what I had laying around like Cheddies said. I tried with a FD-8 before and played a bit with the sliding pot project but in the end; I want to have time to play my kit. ;-)

And yes Cheddies, it is 1 zone. It is not the quieter hi hat for obvious reasons but I can still play at night with the kids sleeping upstairs.

Looks great though - and if you happen to have another VH-11 laying around be sure to throw it this way!
