  • Will an "insert" cable work with a piezo/switch input?

Hi guys...I'm planning to make an "insert" Y cable to connect 2 mono trigger (piezo) pads in 1 piezo/switch input.
The question is: will this solution work with a piezo/switch input, or it works only with a piezo/piezo input?

Let's say i want to connect 2 kit toys splashes (or whatever) in my tom 4 (or whaterver piezo/switch input)...

My td10 has only 1 piezo/piezo input and, of course, is for the snare, but it has piezo/switch on all the others input...

    thanks!

On the Keith Raper circuit sticky, there is a diagram for splitting the circuit on 2 pads.

that's the one you are looking for.

The link to the 'Keith Raper's circuit'-thread:

And here is some background-info on the man himself - Keith Raper:

So the "insert" Y-cable will not work for my purpose and the ONLY way to connect two mono pads into a piezo/switch input is to build the keith raper circuit?
That's disappoiting....the circuit seems complicated to build...
are these circuits for sale somewhere?

        meanwhile...thanks for the help

Have you tried contacting Keith directly through P.M.?
He is a member here! (or at least he was...)

Also, contact Keith's firm, maybe they can build the circuit.

Odd - the link posted but not my text.

I was saying - Keith sells pre-built circuits here: www.dtxpander.co.uk he will ship worldwide and is very responsive via the contact details on the site. VERY good quality too - proper etched pcbs and miniature components.

BTW, I've built a KR circuit on a small balsa board. Was much simpler than I believed it to be. Don't be put off but the technicality of the schematic. It's not complicated at all.

that's the problem..I'm struggling to understand the scheme but I need to see it already built on the project boad..

Somebody had pictures of the circuit?
