  • Questions about converting Acoustic to Electric

After doing some research here is my possible setup:
4 Piece Mapex Venus series acoustic Kit
    Ddrum Triggers
    Hart Dynamics Mesh Drum Heads
Alesis Trigger I/O Percussion Pad to MIDI Interface

-I'm going for the the Alesis interface and not a module because I want to connect my drums directly to my laptop and use a program like EZ drummer to produce sounds. Does anyone have any experience doing this? If so, is this Alesis Product adequate? Is there a similar product that works better that can connect triggers directly to your pc without the use of a module?

-Can the Ddrum triggers be used with mesh heads? Will it produce a different pitch/volume based on how hard I hit the drum?

Any feedback on any of the products I've listed would be most appreciated. My goal is to have a silent kit that sounds decent, feels responsive, and is affordable. Thanks for the help guys!

Welcome aboard taintedcereal. First off, it sounds like you have a good plan. The next thing I would highly suggest is to use the search function on this forum. I say this, because most of your questions have been covered a great deal already on this forum. Good luck and I look forward to hearing about your progress.
