hi, i have a td-10 exp. and in the manual it says, if i want head and rim on the tom inputs, i have to use pd-7's or 9's..why won't the pd-120's do it..is it the way they're wired or something else i could modify..i noticed that even when i plug a pd-120 into a cymbal input, it won't provide head and rim even though it has two sensors..how does a cymbal input know that it's a pd-120 and not a cy-14...anyone have a fix? thanks..

Nearly right..... it's all in the triggers
Dual zone cymbals and rubber pads have a piezo trigger in the bow/head and switch trigger (i.e. on/off trigger) in the edge/rim. The PD120 and other mesh head pads have two piezo triggers (head and rim). Your inputs are designed for a piezo and switch trigger, so a dual piezo trigger doesn't work on the rim trigger.

thanks for that reply, just looking for an opinion before i rip a couple of spare cy-6's apart......do you think or anyone else here think that this would work..i mean if i mounted a switch trigger from a cy-6 on the shell of a pd-120 where or about where the piezo trigger is.would that give me head and rim on the tom imputs ya think?..
