What are the best piezos to use for DIY snare and toms? Someone said use YU87U 27mm piezo. Where can I purchase them on the internet?
I been using the $1.99 radio shack piezos.
Roland TD-8 Mod, DIY burgandy Mapex drums 12" snare, 8" 10" and 12" rack toms, 14" rack floor tom, 22" Bass drum , 3 cy-15r cymbals, one for the ride 2 for the crashes and cy-14c for hi hat.
I think you'll find the Radio Shack ones as good as any. There are factors that make far more difference than piezo choice with DIY projects. The type of foam you use will make a massive difference.
allanjohn - I see no reference to those specific part #'s anywhere on this forum. Are there proven cases where those specific piezos (as sold in that auction) have been used successfully? Seems like a great price. For the cost of a few Radio Shack's you get 10 pieces.

I use them, as do several others here, and can vouch for their suitability.
They work awesome, the seller is highly recommended by me, and you cannot beat the price.
