Thanks guys, my first love is creating new looks and finishes. I have to thank Amonline for the idea though, he said he wanted to see a two headed pad a while back.

I no longer use diy triggers, I dont even make my own anymore. I just wanted to show off what could be done with a little creativity. Good luck folks and write if you need anything. T

Thank you guys for all the compliments, I will hopefully have an announcement to make soon regarding these drum pads.

The next batch will be done in Walnut so I can start putting together a catalog of sorts with various colors and such. I have lined up a few impartial folks to test these and will be sending out some retail samples as I finish them.

One of the features that you cant see is cutting the lead time to a fraction of the time it takes to manufacture its acoustic counterpart. Mostly due to the interior and also some new steps in the finishing process. I am glad you all like them. I will have some new pics up soon, Thanks, Tom K

Looks great. Just one question. It looks like you've got SilenTrim on the hoops. How do you access the turning nuts - my trim makes them inaccessible?

I was able to tune it with it on but it was very tight. The trim is pretty easy to take off and on so I did it that way. If you used a 2.0 type hoop it could provide a little more room but I currently use 2.3 mm super hoops.

Thank You for the kind words, Tom

Hi Dave, Thanks for the compliment, every fade I do uses only 1 type of stain Usually formulated from 3 popular companies and applied in 3 stages. But the dark part of the fade comes from something external and a secret of mine. I also use the same process to enhance the grain on certain pieces.

I think the general fade process involves spraying a dye or stain in various color depths or shades. I dont use that method but it is an awesome way to a great fade. I prefer freehand and a more handmade look to the drum.

I have been using and evolving my process for about 10 years now. I have learned alot just by making mistakes and trial and error.

Thank You for the kind words, T
