ok, so i just ripped my snare mesh head, is it a poor head, am i playing too hard or is it because i have only four lugs so the tension isn't distributed evenly...

the rip is right by one lug so i have decided that for snare at least i'm going to sort out some more lugs.

    see for yourself.

While certainly less than ideal, it should work fine. An E head is less sensitive to tuning than an A drum (it's more about tension than tuning on Es).

    started a topic 4 Lug Tom !

    4 Lug Tom !

I have been given a cheap 12" tom which I am going to convert to an edrum but it only has 4 lugs I have a sheet of plexiglass to make a 'basket' for this project.

Would I have problems with head tension/triggering ?
Working...
