If by counterhoops you mean the hoops on my snare/toms they're just 12mm mdf cut into hoops using a jigsaw, holes drilled for the long screws and spray painted back to look better. Ive improved them now by making the hoops thinner with makes it look a lot better and makes the whole drum weigh less.

Simple HiHat Pedal
I thought I'd post this incase anyone wanted an idea how to make one. It only does open/closed sounds but for its simplicity it works very well. It shows how cheap and easy DIY E-Drums can be! Its just a switch made from aluminium foil... I had to use foam to keep the pedal open because i couldnt find any springs
