  • Portable Electronic "Handpan" Instrument Emulator / Scale Prototyper [Complete]

I was looking around reddit for piezo info and came across this excellent, detailed post I thought people here might find interesting.

It uses a lot of formatting, so not going to cut-paste anything but the intro section here:

    TL;DR

I spent ~$120 making a small, handheld / portable, electronic device that roughly emulates playing and drum / musical instrument known as a “handpan”, by using a commercial “WAV Trigger” PCB, some buttons, some sound samples in .wav format, a small project box and some basic soldering / machining skills.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough: this IS NOT something I made, just something I came across and thought others here would find valuable.

To communicate with the maker of this, you should go reply to the post on Reddit.

Specifically, I'd reply to the initial post here:
      https://www.reddit.com/r/somethingim...ment_emulator/
The inventor seems eager to talk about it, to quote "Let me know if there are any questions / concerns!"

Also if people aren't aware, there was briefly a handpan-shaped e-drum for sale, the Oval. You can still find them used sometimes, but they tend to be rather expensive (around $600 if my memory serves me, which it often doesn't.)
