  • Put a kd-10 into a bass drum shell and put a mesh head

Do it work? I don’t know how to convert my bass drum and that can be a good option.

This would be considered DIY or Technical. Please read our forum descriptions and post in the best area in the future. Thank you.

user here put a KD-9 in his kick drum, see here --> https://www.vdrums.com/forum/advance...-s-a2e-project

this guy on youtube put a crappy KD-8 in his kick drum https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RspDehG36-s

then there's the hard to find and roland priced (read: too expensive) KD-a22 conversion kit which is basically a KD-9/10 mounted in a 22" head https://www.roland.com/ca/products/kd-a22/

i was considering the same sort of idea but ended up going with just mesh head + trigger + piece of foam inside the drum against the mesh head in an attempt to mimic the drum-tec design

      drum tec below

my crappier version (i stuck couch cushion against head interior, put a 20" head against it to sort of hold it in place, then packed the rest of the kick with more foam and put the reso back on. ideally i'd mount some sort of bracket but i'm not particular good with tools / diy. also using a single side mount trigger.

for the more DIY capable, this guy appears to have done a good job https://www.vdrums.com/forum/advance...sion-kick-drum

or vdrumtip youtube channel dismantled a kd-9 and made his own kd-a22 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkJEi8dQ_AE

Alesis STRIKE, PD-85 rack toms, PD-105BK floor tom, Mapex snare with ISM-6, PDP MX 22" kick with ISM, iron cobra 900 double pedal, hart e-cymbal2, CY-5 as splash, CY-8, CY-12R, L80 hi-hat with cheap-o trigger with goedrum hi hat controller. EZdrummer2+EZX/Addictive Drums 2 VSTs.

you could also just buy it as apparently someone on ebay has done this for you

        https://www.ebay.com/itm/Roland-KD-9...torefresh=true

also this user has also made a drum-tec style a2e kick drum https://www.vdrums.com/forum/advance...hner-a2e/page2

          Usual:

          Buy a Triggera Bix.

Then zero hassle and no hacks. Life's too short,

Thank you for your answer and sorry if I posted in the wrong place. I think that I will just buy the Roland conversion bass drum, it's easier and I will get a better fealing.
