  • 682drums XS-PRO+ RealHit

    Hi Guys,

Has anyone tried the new 682drum XS-PRO+ (RealHit) heads?

It seems that they are a 3ply head with a more realistic feel and are less transparent. I will probably buy some but would like to hear from anyone who already tried them before I commit to shipping to NZ.

    Many Thanks,
    Ben

I have not but have the Roland 3 ply on that new Roland snare and it's great.

I agree. Had not heard of them before you posted this so thanks. Let me know if you give them a try. I am looking at upgrading a few of the cheap black Remo heads.

Yes please post if you buy the 682 3 plys. I am curious how loud they are and how much rebound compared to other heads. I own a set of 682 black 2 plys. Been a while since I played them. I have been playing x ed 3 plys for about 3 years, love them.According to the recent test in digital drummer mag. The white 682 3plys are the quietest mesh head on the market with their black 3 ply being the second quietest out there with performance on both being not too bouncy

I have been using ed 2 plys for a couple of years now. Have you compared the 2 and 3 ply? I may just spring for some drumtec heads.

Yup, after your post ordered and just replaced my 13" RealFeel head by a RealHit one. So far feels good, I will test for a few days and then share feedback.

                        how have you found them?
Roland TD-6v all mesh, kick swapped for KD-85 mesh with iron cobra 900 double pedal, added pintech and yamaha cymbals with drum splitters, and swapped CY-5 hi-hat (now using as cymbal) for an L80 hi-hat with cheap-o trigger with goedrum hi hat controller. using free trial versions of GGD, BFD3, SSD5 VST and MTpowerdrumkit.

Sorry, for the late feedback, tested them but did found them to be better than a drum-tec RealFeel head. The 3rd layer is a kind of mesh cloth and through it dampens the rebound nicely, it sort of slaps back a bit, causing a bit of rattling nice, which is reduced when tightening the head up. Also it seemed upper layer was more elastic, from a tensioning perspective (not feel) and I had to tighten it up considerably, also a bit more in the following days.
