Triggers for cymbals or hihats based on contact mic?
06-18-15, 12:30 AM
Wondering if anyone had tried to mount a small contact mic to a cymbal or hihat to to process or trigger rather than piezo transducers?
Any manufacturer offer something like that?

should work.
Piezos, like speakers, have the same function as a mic.
I just tried a small speaker I have at home, and it works.

Since this is the DIY section, the answer would be.... Why not!

True, true. But seeing as most contact mics are just piezos anyway, the question is moot!
