I recently acquired a cheap 12" tom that I'm intending to slice and convert into a snare and a rack tom. My question is: what size piezos would you use? The default for the Quartz triggers (where I'll be minimally ordering the foam cones) seems to be 35mm. I believe my Roland pads have 27mm piezos. What would you do? Thanks!

The 35's are thought to be more sensitive. Either will be fine. -
I have 35's on my build but I also wired in a potentiometer to dial down the head piezo. I think I have the head piezo at an 8/10 on that dial. It gave me a bit more flexibility with my trigger settings on the module.I think my work is done here.Comment
