Pros and cons? Is this option superior or inferior to internal? I'm looking at Pintech's RS-5 and it does indeed look like a simple and elegant system. I would be using them on a acoustic drums with mesh heads.

It may now be unavailable, but do a search for a old thread about this. The trick was to use a guitar pick between the head and sensor.
