I have an old cracked cymbal (10" splash) laying around that I would like to try DIY for my TD-9 kit. I was at a local hardware store and I noticed this stuff, Plasti-dip. Its a liquid rubber that one would use to coat tools. (If your plastic handle slides off) I was thinking of pouring that stuff on my old splash, attaching a trigger and maybe a foam striking pad to the cymbal. Has anyone ever tried this stuff? I could just attach a trigger directly to the cymbal but then I would be dealing with noise associated with the cymbal and unwanted vibrations. Thoughts?
