  • Real robot drummer (Drumbot)

Credit to Manos in a previous post for pointing out the Drumbot this guy has invented.. see link below.... I felt it deserved it's own thread for discussion.

Surely Michael Render will develop this concept ???

As I mentioned in the other thread... geeky but cool
In the words of Johnny Five: "Need more input"! (as in more information on this project)

Very cool! Bigger motions (real pounding) would be even better!

Great, just what I need. A robot putting me out of a job!

But there has already been an invention for automating V-Drums. I call it "MIDI." Heh.

But if I were to invent something like this, I would make an automaton that would respond to MIDI. Every time I hit a drum, the automaton would make the same motion. Then I would set it up next to my kit and do weird things with it.

What Render does with his inflatable dolls...errr...sorry...I mean "automatons" is his own business.

cool.. i don't think that system can do dynamics though..
ever seen the spooky drum&bass monkey by chris cunningham ?
This video was created by the great filmmaker Chris Cunningham with music by Aphex Twin.

(lady's, he has some unorthodox hh-technique, so be warned)..
