the finish looks like a satin oil lime green to candy.
you think that's legitimate? i'm getting it for less than 2000... a lot less than that...
    what do you say?

I was counting the number of logs on the bassdrum, and it has 8. the placement is also incorrect on it. couldn't find any drums with a 20" bassdrum in the dw showroom...
I'm not risking that much money on something I'm not sure of its authenticity

Usually, 20" and smaller BD's by DW have 8 lugs. The placement is fine for a 20". I think I've only seen one that had 10, but it was definately a custom order. I would say the "images" are legit, but with this type of purchase, I'd want to see the thing in person first. There HAS to be a reason he's selling it so super cheap. Maybe he's gigged with it a lot and has lots a chips in it? I'd also want to see the bearing edges. Have you researched his PayPal profile?

Is it really super cheap for four drums and two stands? Are there many counterfeit DW drums circulating?

I hear there's a growing amount, but I've yet to actually see any.

No I haven't looked his paypal ID up, I just let the offer go.
                    here's the listing
his last feedback is negative. I talked to him in private, he said he wouldn't take less than 1750, so I'm guessing the guy who left the negative feedback was right since he had won the auction for 1225.

I have a lot of ebay experience my feedback is close to 400 i can tell you that the feedback record is shady, You made a good decision. Its a funny thing though, I once bought 3 PD 80 pads and a CY8 for $550.00 approx 2 1/2 years ago, to upgrade a Td6 that I later sold (I do that too much sometimes) the seller had so so feedback but was really good at responding sent me additional pics of the pads upon request and the transaction was just fine. I then bought a PD-80R from someone with a 100% feedback that came with a broken mesh head. he only responded and sent money for a new head after I submitted a paypal complaint. So you do take your chances up to a certain point which is why I bought my latest TD-9 and DW from a music store.

LOL! Funny you mention that! I have only used them a few times so far. I play the V kit @ home. I joined a Sabbath tribute band which had a pearl export kit in their space (House basement as part of a rec studio ) but it will be gone soon and I will be using my nice kit! The pic was taken when I just got it.
