Check out this review I made of Kickport's new FXseries ports This thing sounds awesome. Increased the volume, cleaned up the sound, and made my snare more sensitive.
Video is a bit long and when i say EQ i mean (eq,compression,reverb etc) There's a sidebyside comparison at the beginning (40 seconds in or so) if you don't have 5 minutes to watch it.
I use an STdry head in this video, its already a pretty dry head.
These won't be for everyone. Some guys LOVE their snares to have a loud ping and a ton of overtones.
