  Rolands V-drum Travel Case
Reviewed by Brian Leach

After waiting what seemed like an eternity, my Roland Travel Case finally shipped after being back-ordered for almost 3 months. Just like when I ordered my v-drums almost a year and a half ago I had to learn how to wait patiently. :)

The travel case came in one big box. Looked bigger than any picture I was able to find online (see picture at left)when considering my purchase. Below are some pictures I took with a digital camera... Click for larger image.

I can only give you first impression since I've only had the case for a few days now. First, I was surprised to see the SKB markings on the latches. I had originally been interested in SKB Cases because of reputation. Second, the case looks like the drums & module will be well protected in the case. Especially the TD-10 and PD-100s. Previously when lugging my set around Chicago I would stack the drums on-top of each other and carry my TD-10 with me in the passenger seat of my Jeep Cherokee. Third, even thought I no longer use the rack that comes with the v-drums the bag still seems useful. All of my Gibralter rack hardware looks like it will fit nicely. I'll probably end up purchasing a hard-case for the rack hardware eventually though.

I've finally gotten around to taking a picture with the drums in the case.
