Exclamation As promised.. Omar Hakim and TD-20 LIVE!!

I always keep my promises. I did say that one way or another we'd get those Omar videos, even if we had to beg borrow or in this case steal them..lol... Here are the links. My friends at Roland here in Korea have diced them up nicely for us. They can only be viewed on their website which is strictly members only !.
So, here they are, a "V-Drums.com scoop! I hope they work for you. Atleast I know I have my priorities right !! Family first!! lol

Tony Le Rhodes,

I don't know about this video. Omar doesn't really look like he's getting into the playing at all ... he looks kind of catatonic especially during the jazz part of this video ...

Just kidding, this is an awesome video! Thanks for the post. I like the snare stuff in the begining quite a bit. When I first played the TD-20, I actually thought that interval control was actually making my snare drum playing sound better than it actually was - well unlike myself I know that Hakim actually has the tools to demonstrate the possibilities of the kit!

Hey Steve, sorry to bust ya balloon buddy but umm yeah... it does make you sound better..lol... Anyone can sound like anyone they want with a TD-20! You can be El Jazzo Supremo to Stadium God-like sounding with much perfection I say.. let's pull out the old "A's" and do as I say... "Let our fingers do the talking" Glad you liked the vids, I try

Tony,

No bubble burst. I always try to stay grounded in reality - lol!

The TD-20 is cool and very responsive - as much as I try to study the sampler routes to get the widest variety - I can't imagine the amount of programming one would have to do to get interval control and positional sensing going with a hardware sampler or software sampler solution to the same degree.

Tony, thanks again!

-Steve

I'm copying and pasting, and they're popping up in Windows Media Player just fine for me. Wish I knew what to suggest...

If you want, I'll try to describe them for you:
First he puts his phones on, then goes 'da dit dadabrrrrrrrrrbrbrbrbrbrbrb' on the snare.
then some bratatatbrrrrrrrrrbrbrbrbrdagaboopdagum.
then blagadaga clickclick click clik.

he's pretty good you know!

LOL!!

Actually, the audio that I heard sounded utterly, wickedly excellent. I'd like a nice uncompressed DVD of that!

If you have virus protection on, try turning it off. The connection should work.

Struthe!!! Pickle me grandmother !! Where do I start?
Ok, firstly let me take care of the Feef-meister..!! Umm ok, We are in the process of relocating host servers from Oz to Korea due to the immense amount of traffic my website is getting from the Koreans. That should all be done by Wednesday (knowing the Korean pace, maybe Friday) Secondly, is Drummerzone really directing towards Bella's site? If so, that's very unusual, probably coz we're both parked on the same domain. I guess 'you get that'..lol.. and thirdly.. that 'leggy blonde' just read your post and thought it was 'cute'..lol.. (She's my gal and I have to wake up looking at that pretty face every morning... some of us are lucky in life aren't we? ) Now, I guess you guys are wondering "what's a model chick doing with the likes of him..??? I'll let YOU guys figure that one out .
Now, onto these links.. WELCOME TO KOREA!! Anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong over here. This place is so scattered when it comes to getting anything done, and I mean ANYTHING! Nothing ever works like it is supposed to. Ok, so, the links work fine for me, I just checked them. Just cut & paste them into your browser and as Xush said, they're popping up in Windows Media Player. See, the site they're linked to is the official Roland site of one of the big honcho's in Seoul. These, what they call 'Drum Cafes' are STRICTLY Korean members only! What's worse is that no foreigner has any access due to the way they have set it all up. Its like their own little niche in cyber world. Trust me when I say "we are lucky or YOU are lucky if you get to see this much"
So, I have just downloaded some DVD ripper software Now, what will happen is that I'll rip this DVD to shreads if I have to then host it on my website (which won't be directing to Bella's) and then you guys can come and feast on them. They actually missed 1 song and 1 solo which I will take care of when I rip it.
Just for curiosity's sake I'm posting the link to my Daum Cafe website for you guys to go check out. See how far you can get. http://cafe.daum.net/TONYDRUMMER
Anyway, boys & girls... It's 9:00am here and its time to hit the ol' Kelloggs and jump into the "doom room". Today I have to grab a bike and go riding down the Han River then come home have a light lunch then work on my singles on my feet "Virgil" style. I found this little point in my singles recently where my feet (ankles) are going psycho (Mike Mangini) All I have to do now is to learn to control my feet whn I reach that point, then for a bit of humour I'll dump it down on video and maybe show you guys what I have been up to.
So, have fun and we'll catch up soon
