  • wiring diagram for yamaha 3 zone cymbal?

sorry guys im pretty sure this question has already been asked but i couldnt find it with the search function. or in google either which seems a bit weird but anyways here it goes.

i want to build a 3 zone ride in a yamaha style. reason being is because i only have to use 1 stereo input. i can remember reading somewhere on the internet that the way these are wired is with a bow peizo and 2 keith raper circuits. you can also get choke with this setup. is this correct?

i was looking at this forum earlier and i want to build this design. for some reason my bookmarks must be deleting themselves because i could swear i had a link where you can create an edge and choke zone with just 1 peizo.

    maybe this site might help?

Here is the schematic from Yamaha's patent:

Like Roland, they only use one piezo and several rim switches. The difference is that Yamaha connects both the bell switch and the rim switch to the same terminal on the connector. They use a series resistor on one of the switches so that they can differentiate between the two switches.

BTW, I got this from the following thread, which might also be one of the threads that you bookmarked:

What module are you using? There are only 2 modules that I'm aware that will give you all three zones on one jack which is a yamaha module of coarse and a Megadrum. Check out these links they may be of some interest to you.

            atomburst,

The critical factor is: which module are you using?
