and with surge cymbals and smart triggers influencing so many awesome DiY
projects I've seen well the question is has any one tried to get some roland painted to look real with spray paint or something or about a dye or krylon plastic fusion ..
heck or a latex anyone?
i for one am using diy acrylic cymbals ... but they aren't too quiet in fact they are down right annoying with out my head phones on to drown out the sound
so while at a OSh (like a home depot) for some unrelated purchases
i ran into sheets of rubber that they sell exact same type of rubber as on roland and yamaha cymbals . t(hey also had foam)...
so i thought of buying a boatload to permanently glue on my acrylic cymbals
i have yet to find a place that sells it in the with I'm looking for .
i had other plans for these acrylic cymbals.
but they were my first attempt at heat molding , and they are littered with ugly bubbles,
and the hole in the center was done by eyeballing it thus not centered.
so covering them with rubber would make them very quiet and it would be like putting a paper bag on the ugly kid before taking him out..
